Visited: August 1st, 2011 After eating at Chinatown in Litchfield, Petey took us on a "tour" of the area then went back to Mt. Olive to go to Hurley's. When we went inside Hurley's, it was not crowded because it was around 3pm. This bar had a very rustic "old west" saloon look to it, which explains the name of the bar. It was clean, it had a fairly good alcohol selection, good amount of seating in the front and back, a karaoke machine, and a pool table. I saw the bar menu, and I couldn't believe how cheap the beer and liquor was. A bottle of domestic was around $1.50 and the imported was $3.00. A pint of draught beer was around $2.00. A glass of liquor is around $3-$4. And a pitcher of domestic beer was around $5-$6. Petey and I each ordered a Jack & Coke and my boyfriend got the "cheerleader beer" (that's how he put it), Mike's Hard Lemonade. The bartender cracked up when he said that because she had never heard it being referred to that. After those drinks, my boyfriend and Petey both got Bud Light in bottles. I got a Newcastle in a bottle because they didn't have imported beers on tap. As we were drinking, we decided to play pool. We all sucked, but were having a good time. My boyfriend started talking about a family friend nicknamed "Beaver", who was renting a house owned by his mom. Apparently, this dude is a character. We were looking around and just happened to see him sitting at the end of the bar. My boyfriend hollered at him and he walked on over to the pool table. He introduced me to Beaver, and Beaver said to my boyfriend that he couldn't remember my name (my boyfriend talked to him about me in his trip the year before) because he was looking at my breasts. And everyone in the bar busted out laughing. And then there was this drunk dude with a Bowie knife on his belt talking about random crap to us when he got out of the John. That dude too was looking at my rack and my boyfriend gave him a dirty look each time he looked. Speaking of the John, I couldn't believe that there were cupholders above the toilets. So basically, if you are piss drunk holding your alcohol, you can put it in the cupholder while you are taking a leak. How convenient. LOL..... My experience at this place was great. You can have a few drinks (and not break the bank), play pool, sing karaoke (if you feel confident enough in your voice), and relax. I could do without the karaoke machine though....LOL.
